I think Fly should stick to dirt, it's what they know. I mean there gonna be competing against a whole new ballpark of brands like scorpion, icon, joe rocket, etc... But this is just what I think, if they can bring the same awesomeness that they brought to dirt, into the street scene they may just dominate the whole industry.

the new z1000 is a great bike and better than speed triple. have riden both extensively. the z is faster, smoother, smoother clutch, smoother gearbox, lower to the ground, more comfortable. if u r looking for a naked. i would go with the z1000.

I actually looked at this system and for the price its not bad, but I don't care to have to order separate items when in my opinion it should all come with the system.

I haven't had problems with the glue breaking down personally. I have heard about it but Stomp will take care of it and send a replacement from what I hear. I ride on the track as well. I've heard of the tech spec grips. I'll check 'em out.

I have been through 3 sets on two different track bikes and in each case the glue has broken down in hot weather and the Stomp Grips shift or come off completely (and yes they do tear up leathers in track bike use). Not a problem with my street bikes. Replaced twice, same problem, switched to Tech Spec grips and had no problems.

Nobody would rightfully look at an 848 Superbike as it has a wet clutch. The 848 is to Ducati Superbikes what the Thundercat is to Yamaha Sportbikes... a joke. Maintenance on a 4v Duc is pricey, but consider it dues into an exclusive club. Since you are riding an old Jap bike (by today's standards) you should be looking into an equivalent vintage Ducati 749 for your price comparisons, the Ducati is still more expensive, but much closer in value than comparing a NEW 848 ($12k) with a 3 year old raced R6 ($3k).

I'm not sure a 1098 is a great bike for track, as it's just too expensive if something were to go wrong. Hell even your typical disposable Yamakawazuki off the showroom floor is too expensive to take to the track. Honestly, you on an Italian bike is not better (faster lap times) than you on a Jap bike, but you will appreciate the difference in character.

Stay Jap for the track, not for price, power, or after market but for the fact Jap bikes are (for the most part) disposable bikes. Wreck one, buy another. Save the Italian stuff for hard Sunday rides.
